Can I Refund the Customer Directly When I Get a Dispute?
Why you should not refund a customer directly during an active dispute to avoid double compensation.
When a customer initiates a formal dispute, you should not attempt to refund them directly outside the official dispute resolution process. The issuing bank has already processed a chargeback and reimbursed the account holder. If you provide an additional refund, you risk compensating the customer twice for the same transaction.
The proper approach is to work through UQPAY’s established dispute handling procedures rather than circumventing them with direct refunds.
