- Offer a quick and easy way to cancel. An in-app cancellation button works best since cardholders don’t need to wait for refund confirmation.
- Communicate billing terms clearly. Present your subscription details upfront before collecting cardholder information.
- Require explicit opt-in. Have customers click an acknowledgment button confirming they’ve accepted the billing terms.
- Send trial expiration reminders. If you offer free or discounted trial periods, notify users before it ends so they can opt out.
- Implement flexible refund policies. Consider offering full or prorated refunds when cancellations happen shortly after billing.
- Schedule billing notifications. Send reminders approximately 7 days before yearly renewals and 2-3 days before monthly ones.
